COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course provides a comprehensive overview of the Code of Ethics, NCREC License Law and Rules, Agency, and the key forms that guide real estate practice in North Carolina. Students will examine real-world scenarios to identify potential violations of the Code of Ethics, License Law, Rules, and industry best practices, while also determining the correct use and implementation of required forms throughout a transaction. Through guided discussion and collaborative evaluation, students will learn to analyze the actions of both Buyer Agents and Listing Agents, identify improper or non-compliant behavior, and determine the appropriate course of action to meet the needs of the client, customer, and transaction. Participants will also deepen their understanding of the Offer to Purchase and Contract, including when and how to use it properly. By the end of the course, students will be able to confidently recognize violations, apply ethical and legal standards to real estate scenarios, articulate correct contract use, and incorporate these practices into their daily business. This course emphasizes each broker’s responsibility in elevating professionalism and strengthening consumer protection within the industry. Discussions will include: - Establishing Agency relationships with Buyers and Sellers - Listing Procedures - Code of Ethics - Compensation - Proper preparation of required forms - CMAs, Fair Housing, Confidentiality, Disclosure, Land Use, Misrepresentation, Material Facts, License Law, Property Inspection, Safety, Multiple Offers This class is being offered online live-stream through Zoom.
