COURSE DESCRIPTION: Bias Override: Overcoming Barriers to Fair Housing helps real estate professionals interrupt stereotypical thinking so they can avoid fair housing pitfalls and provide equal professional service to every customer or client. Participants will examine the history of bias in real estate, learn about the mind science of identity, study how implicit bias can result in fair housing violations, and engage in interactive exercises to enhance communication skills and business relationships with clients of all backgrounds.

This course providesrecertification credit for the Canopy Workforce Housing Certificate program.

COURSE MATERIALS: Student Manual will be provided via Canopy Campus prior to start of course. 

NOTE: Hardcopies of student materials may be available upon request by emailing canopyreinstitute@canopyrealtors.com.  Shipping and handling charges will apply if request is for delivery. Arrangements must be made for request by pickup at our office.  Canopy Real Estate Institute is located at 1120 Pearl Park Way, Charlotte, NC 28204 and open Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4pm, excluding holidays.

ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENT:  You are required to attend 90% of this class .   Students cannot make up missed time due to lateness or absences. Students should ensure they can attend the required classroom hours before registering for a class.

COMPLETION &PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENT:   You will not  receive credit for class time and participation if you fail to adhere to the policies outlined in our Policies and Procedures Disclosure.
