Aug. 21, 2025 from 2:00pm - 6:00pm CREDIT HOURS: 4 hours (NC Elective) *As of July 1, 2024, if you're a non-resident with a real estate license in South Carolina, you now need to take CE courses that are specifically approved by South Carolina, rather than using CE courses from your home state to satisfy SC requirements. These courses need to be offered by SC-approved providers and meet the standards set by the South Carolina Real Estate Commission. COURSE DESCRIPTION: By the end of this course, you will be able to; Explain the history and purpose of Fair Housing Laws Identify protected classes under Federal and North Carolina fair housing laws Summarize the key principles of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Code of Ethics Compare the obligations of the Code of Ethics to legal requirements and state licensing laws Explain the enforcement process for ethics violations and the role of ethics complaints, mediation, and arbitration Define Pathways to Professionalism and its role in enhancing REALTOR® conduct beyond legal and ethical obligations Identify best practices in respect for the public, respect for property, and respect for peers This course satisfies the following: North Carolina CE Elective credit (4 hours) NAR's Fair Housing requirement (2 hours) NAR's Code of Ethics (2 Hours) Read the consequences for failing to complete Code of Ethics training. NOTE: COE & Fair Housing completions will be reported directly to NAR for Canopy Primary-affiliated members only . Non-members or members with secondary affiliations will be responsible for submitting their certificate of course completion to their primary Association. Canopy will report NC Elective credit to the Commission for ALL students in attendance. This class is being offered online live-stream through Zoom. COURSE MATERIALS: Course materials will be located in your student dashboard available for download via Canopy Campus prior to start of course. ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENT: Students are required to attend 90% of this class. Students cannot make up missed time due to lateness or absences. Students should ensure they can attend the required classroom hours before registering for a class. Students cannot use the allotted 10% to leave the class early. Students enrolled in a rescheduled or cancelled course that has not yet begun will be given a minimum of 24-hour notice of the cancellation or new course schedule. Students who cannot attend the rescheduled course date(s) have the option to be counted as absent, reschedule to another course, or receive a full tuition refund. A student may withdraw from a course by giving written notice to the school prior to day of course. In such event, the student will be rescheduled to a future course or registration placed on HOLD status.
