2018 NCREEA Program of the Year.   Upon completion of this course, licensees will have a heightened awareness and broader understanding of how to accurately complete both the Listing Agreement and the Offer to Purchase and Contract for both common and challenging scenarios that occur in real estate transactions.  After this course licensees will have a greater comprehension of how to complete legally enforceable contracts for the real estate consumer. This elective provides four hours of North Carolina CE elective credit.

1. Masks are not required but still encouraged in classrooms, restrooms, common areas and during small group break-out sessions.

2. Students are still encouraged to observe social distancing in common areas, restrooms and in the classroom. To accommodate social distancing requirements, Canopy in-person class sizes will be limited.

3. To avoid infecting the instructor, staff or other students, individuals who test positive for COVID-19 are asked not to attend class until they have retested and received a negative COVID-19 test result.

4. Canopy instructors and/or staff reserve the right to ask students who are exhibiting cold/flu symptoms, to either wear a mask or leave the class until the student has recovered or is no longer exhibiting such symptoms. until such time as the student has recovered and is no longer exhibiting such symptoms.

5. Canopy building access is limited to the classroom areas on the first floor and to the Canopy Real Estate Institute offices and Realtor® Store located on the second floor. Please visit the Realtor® Store while you are in the building. Store hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. On-line ordering and curb-side pick-up are available.

6. Students who are uncomfortable with these In-Person Class and Social Distancing Guidelines are encouraged to enroll in virtual/live-stream classes as an alternative. Please visit our website at www.canopyreinstitute.com to view our class schedule.


Please be advised Canopy is no longer providing food for students. Students may bring a small snack and/or beverage to class. Vending machines and complimentary coffee are also available.

Sandy Williams, DREI, CDEI

A native Charlottean, Sandy Williams has been teaching real estate in Charlotte since 1996. Teaching broker prelicensing courses, postlicensing courses and continuing-education courses, she has assisted thousands of students become licensed and continue their real estate education.

Sandy is an active member of the North Carolina Real Estate Educators Association (NCREEA) where she has held every office in the organization, and she is active and has served on key committees in the national Real Estate Educators Association (REEA) as well.  She is the proud recipient of the NCREEA 2006 “Educator of the Year” award and North Carolina Real Estate Commission's “Billie J. Mercer Excellence in Education” award.

Sandy also holds the coveted Distinguished Real Estate Instructor (DREI) designation, which has been awarded to only a small number of real estate educators nationwide, as well as the Certified Distance Education Instructor (CDEI) designation. 

While helping others, Sandy believes in continuing her own education by taking appraisal courses and obtaining designations such as the Strategic Pricing Specialist, Certified Short Sale Seller Agent and Ecobroker. Sandy's students consistently report that her love of teaching is shown in her methods and is only surpassed by her desire for each student's success.

Sandy was awarded Program of the Year in 2018 by NCREEA for her elective course, "Tackling What Ifs: Potential Obstacles on the Field."
